Distilled: Conceptual Sculptures by Dominique Palladino |
|
August 6, 2010
Carson City, Nev. The Nevada Arts Council presents “Distilled” a series of conceptual sculptures by Dominique Palladino, on display through September 22, 2010 at the Nevada Arts Council as part of the Office eXhibition Series (OXS). An artist performance and reception will be held Thursday, August 12 from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.
In Distilled, Palladino uses salt as a means to explore and depict growing ideas of division, loss and abandonment in relationship to hierarchical gender roles. By using the salt in different states - dense, evaporated and distilled - Palladino creates a lineage of existence where a continuous slow extraction ultimately results in the absence there of, a distillation.
